Re-reading book 1 of the Pine Deep Trilogy as now there are two more sequels to read. I originally picked this book up for something to read whilst being on the bus thinking oh well if it sucks it filled the void of a couple of boring bus trips if anything. Low and behold what i got was a an awesome hard to put down book that apprently was Maberry's first. Maberry is a gritty writer, pulling no punches when it comes to either vulgarity or voilence, however the man knows how to write a good horror story. In fact i was so impressed with this guy i would think if he keeps this up i can easily say he deserves to be up on my bookshelve besides the likes of my other favorite horror writers such as John Saul or Stephen King. I had almost forgotten about this book as it is know very hard to find. Having finally ended my quest and scored a copy from a pal of mine i am totally looking forward to reading the other two books.
